What the Office Sees When an Electrical Tech Completes a Call

The tech taps Complete and drives off. For the tech, the call is over. For the office, it is the moment a lot of work either happens automatically or lands on someone's desk. The difference between a calm office and a buried one is mostly about what shows up on that side of the screen when the tech finishes.

The Call Updates Right Away

Crew GPS, covered in Crew GPS on the Office Map: Knowing Where Every Electrical Van Is, shows where the vans are. The job record shows what they did.

When a tech taps Complete in the ElectricalBossPro tech app, the call is marked done on the dispatch board right away. The office does not wait for a phone call, a text or a stack of paper at the end of the day. The board shows the day as it actually is.

Everything the Tech Added

Opening the completed job shows everything the tech recorded on site:

If a customer calls ten minutes later with a question, the office can answer it by looking at the job, not by tracking down the tech.

The Invoice Is Already There

Complete creates the invoice from the job's line items, with sales tax where it applies. If the customer has a card on file, it can be charged. If not, the invoice is waiting for the customer in the customer app, where they can pay online, and past-due follow-up takes care of reminders.

For property managers, gyms and retail accounts set to Monthly, the completed work lands on that account's monthly statement, with each line labeled with its address. The office does not have to remember which jobs belong to which account.

The Inspection Report Is Ready to Print

On a safety inspection job, the office can print an Electrical Safety Inspection report for the homeowner straight from the job. It brings together the checklist, readings, condition and recommendations the tech entered. No retyping notes from a clipboard, no deciphering handwriting.

If the recommendations include work the homeowner might want, the office can build an estimate from your service list right then and send it for online approval. When the homeowner approves, the estimate becomes the scheduled job.

The House Record Gets Better

Any equipment changes the tech made on the job flow back to the house. A new surge protector added, a corrected panel rating, a generator's serial filled in from a photo of its nameplate — the next job at that address starts from the updated record. That is covered in more detail in Panel, Generator and EV Charger Details on the Electrician App Job Card.

Over time, every completed call makes your customer records more complete. The houses you visit most end up with the best information, which is exactly where you want it.

Recurring Work Comes Back on Its Own

For customers on a plan, Complete also resets the clock. A yearly safety inspection plan or yearly generator maintenance plan is set by minimum days between visits, typically 365. Commercial lighting maintenance might be every 14 or 30 days. Once the visit is completed, the next one is set to come due on the Waiting List on its own.

The Waiting List is a live map and list of every visit that has come due, with pins colored by status: not due yet, due now, or overdue past a seven-day grace. Nobody has to keep a separate calendar of who is due when.

Skips Show Up Too

Not every call ends in Complete. When a tech taps Skip, the office sees it with the tech's note and any photos, so it knows exactly why and what to do next: text the customer, update an access code, rebook the call.

A Quieter Office

When the field records the work as it happens, the office stops chasing information and starts acting on it. Invoices are out, inspections are documented, the next visits are queued and the customer questions answer themselves. That is the payoff of putting the work on the tech's phone.
